PREYR

Predator hunters were running a caller, a log, and a camera from different apps, and still missing the shot. PREYR put the whole hunt in one app, with BRAIN inside: a hunting partner who learns from every hunt.

The problem

Predator hunters hunt with a phone in hand. CallTuneAI, the studio’s web app for building calling sounds, had already shown that hunters will pay for AI-built sounds. But a web studio stays at home, and the hunt happens in the field. Out there, the hunter was running his caller from one app, logging his stands in another, and trying to film with a third. By the time he hit record, the shot was over. And nothing kept track of which sound had brought the coyote in.

Where it started

Underneath CallTuneAI was a sound intelligence system, the thing BRAIN now runs on. It does not sell sounds. It measures them: which sounds ran, in what order, for how long, and what happened. That record turned out to be worth more than the sounds.

The solution: four apps, one hunt

PREYR puts the whole hunt in one app, and all of it works with no signal.

The PREYR sound studio: your own sounds, sequences and stands
Sound StudioUpload sounds, play them via Bluetooth, build sequences and full stands up to 30 minutes to share off the phone. BRAIN learns what sounds work.

Who it is for: two doors, every hunter

One app, and the hunter picks his door when he signs in.

Predator Control is the full system: a calling system and a sound production studio, the stand log with BRAIN’s debriefs, reminders, and the photos and video stored with every stand, sound tracking that records what was playing and where in the track at every kill and every miss, and pro video that films while the calls run.

Hunting is a pro video app for hunters who film: content creators, pro staffers, and TV hosts. Bow, rifle, and waterfowl, wide or tall.

KILLSHOT and 2SHOT

KILLSHOT pre-roll keeps the last two minutes while the camera sits open on standby. The animal steps out before the hunter gets to the phone. He takes the shot, then hits record, and the clip starts up to two minutes back, with the shot in it, and keeps rolling for the high-fives after. Pre-roll usually only comes with high-end cinema cameras and expensive military-grade body cams. Now it is on the phone in his pocket.

2SHOT records the front and back cameras at the same time: the animal and the hunter’s reaction in one video, ready to share, plus both originals for editing. KILLSHOT and 2SHOT run together, up to 4K at 120, and the hunter can lock tall or wide so a mounted phone never flips the shot.

BRAIN, more than a hunting partner

BRAIN learns the hunter, and every hunter who runs him makes him smarter. He gets to know each hunter: his stands, his sounds, his history, by voice or by text, right on the stand. Every kill and every miss is logged with the sound that was playing and where in the track it happened. What works on sounds is shared across every hunter, while pins and spots stay private. And he does the paperwork: he asks for the debrief, reminds the hunter until it is filed, and writes the landowner update.

Beyond hunting: Doubleback

The video tools turned out to be bigger than hunting. Doubleback took KILLSHOT pre-roll and 2SHOT out of PREYR and rebuilt them for the newest iPhones, the iPhone 18 and the iPhone Duo: two angles, two clean files, two minutes back in time, for journalists, content creators, and local businesses. It was ready for the Duo before the phone reached a single store. More on Doubleback.

How it was built

PREYR grew out of CallTuneAI, so it started on a year of systems already built. The studio set the direction, made the calls, and checked the work, and a team of AI agents wrote the code across five connected codebases, through to launch on both app stores.

  • The appiPhone and Android
  • The web appAccounts and the studio online
  • Audio engineBuilds and plays the calling sounds
  • Sound intelligenceThe service behind BRAIN's sound choices
  • calltuneai.comThe original web studio, still connected

Where it goes next

BRAIN was designed to move from the phone to other hardware, keeping what he has learned about each hunter, and what every hunter has taught him, wherever he goes.

  • BuiltCallTuneAI, the web studio, and the sound intelligence underneath it
  • LivePREYR on both app stores, with BRAIN inside
  • Spun outDoubleback, the same camera for journalists, creators, and local businesses
